Chris Grove joined Berkshire Hathaway Home Service Pen Fed Realty in 2024.
Previously, Mr. Grove spent 25 years in the horse racing industry as a trainer, jockey and exercise rider. Competing mostly in the Mid-Atlantic area, he consistently finished in the top ten among trainers for “Wins” in the state of Maryland and was chosen as the state’s 2007 Trainer of the Year. His career topped 16M in earnings with over 600 victories and competed in the world renown Preakness Stakes twice (2011 & 2012) at Pimlico Race Course. As a jockey, Mr. Grove was the leading amateur jockey in North America three years in a row (1993-1995) while riding all over the world.
Mr. Grove has been married to Rachael for over 27 years and they have two sons, Noah (24) and Carson (21). Noah, an amputee and cancer survivor, is a member of two National teams, the USA National Sled Hockey team and the USA Amputee Soccer team. Noah earned gold medals in 2018 (Peyong Chang) & 2022 (Beijing). Carson earned Frederick County Soccer's Offensive Player of the Year Award in 2020. Both children were members of the National Honor Society.
Born and raised in Frederick County, Mr. Grove is involved in the community. He is a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren, donates his time to the Frederick Soup Kitchen & Maryland Food Bank and volunteers his time as a youth soccer head coach.
